PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – Persons entering the island will no longer need to have a COVID 19 insurance. That is according to the Honorable Minister of Public Health, Social Development and Labor, Omar Ottley.
According to him, the mandatory COVID 19 insurance for visitors to the island will no longer needed and this will go into effect as per October 15th. The VSA Minister, who was at the time, speaking at the Council of Ministers weekly press briefing on Wednesday, September 21st, also disclosed that residents returning to the island will no longer required to do a test regardless their vaccination status.
“This is a phase out approach, as we are now in the endemic. COVID 19 is something that we will have to live with and the plan to phase out the entire “EHAS” process by early 2023, to allow free flow and free travel,” Minister Ottley told the news conference.
