THE HAGUE – State Secretary Gunay Usla of Education, Culture and Science is convinced and today supported the amended motion of the Dutch Member of Parliament for the Socialist Party Rinske Leijten.
In it, the Netherlands is called upon to support the preservation and development of cultural heritage in the Caribbean part of the Kingdom.
With her motion, Leijten hoped to get the Netherlands to support the state of the archives, which make research possible and thus contribute to awareness.
The amended motion calls for long-term Dutch involvement in heritage and consultation with the Caribbean countries about what is and what is not possible.
Usla also thinks this is a good idea and will now discuss their specific wishes with Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and the BES islands.
