THE BOTTOM, Saba–The Saba community is today mourning the passing of veteran politician on that island, former Councilman and leader of the Saba Labour Party, Ishmael Levenston.
The late Livings, who had been ailing for sometime, passed away Saturday night. He was 79 years old. Mr. Levenston, who was a well known figure not only on Saba, but throughout the entire Kingdom of the Netherlands is being described as a people’s person, who has contributed tremendously to the development of Saba and its inhabitants.
Speaking to our news department, the son of the late Ishmael Levenston, Dave Levenston, told us that although he and his dad did not always see eye to eye politically, he was always committed to helping residents of his beloved island.
