SYNOPSIS:
An active tropical wave approaching the region is expected to cause cloudiness, showers and the chance for thunderstorms across the region. Meanwhile, a weakened Atlantic high pressure ridge will account for mostly light winds.
Slight to moderate marine conditions are expected throughout the weekend.

SPECIAL FEATURE:
Showers and thunderstorms associated with an active tropical wave located a few hundred miles east of the Leeward Islands continue to show signs of organization. Recent satellite wind data, however, indicate that the system remains disorganized at the surface. Environmental conditions are forecast to be conducive for additional development during the next few days. A tropical depression could form by the middle of this week. This system is forecast to turn northwestward and then northward over the western Atlantic, passing north of the Leeward Islands on Monday and Tuesday.
