PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – On Friday August 16th at approximately 11.45 p.m. a well-known repeat offender identified with initials A.R. was caught in the act by police while he was breaking into a private vehicle with
license plate M-2994 and stealing items from that vehicle. The incident took place on the Wellington road in the vicinity of Lagoonies in Cole bay.
The suspect tried to flee from the officers but was quickly caught up with. The suspect was immediately arrested and the personal items stolen from the vehicle were confiscated for further investigation. A.R. was taken to the Police Head Quarters in Philipsburg where he remains in custody for questioning and further investigation.
