PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – This week on Monday and Tuesday at Divi Little Bay Beach Resort, the Vidanova Pension Fund provided its members on St. Maarten, who are approaching retirement, with a well-
balanced information session as a preparation for their new upcoming reality.
On Monday morning the participants were welcomed by Finance Director of Vidanova, Mr. Ulrich Dalnoot who explained to them that more and more it becomes clear that (future) pensioners often need more information about different aspects regarding retirement. Vidanova is more than happy to meet this need as the Fund is convinced that the better informed the participants are, the more they can enjoy their life as a pensioner.
During the two days, eleven presentations were held by experts from different backgrounds. The participants received information regarding several technical aspects of retirement such as: how do I apply for my pension, tax implications, basic health insurance and AOV. But also some other topics that are not specifically linked to Vidanova’s pension were dealt with such as: “how can I deal with the lower income that I will have after retirement, power and attitude in the new situation, and a wise use of social media. During the lunch, offered by the Fund, the participants had the chance to interact further on the several topics presented.
The general feedback of all who have attended the two-days program was that it was very informative, enlightening and that it has empowered them to go to a new chapter in their life with self-esteem and self-reliance.
Vidanova wishes al its future pensioners a happy retirement and the Fund will continue with this series of information sessions in the future.
