WILLEMSTAD – Curacao has a seventh corona infection. Epidemiologist Dr. Izzy Gerstenbluth announced this today at the daily COVID-19 briefing.
It is an employee of the ADC laboratory in Otrabanda, which is the one that does the testing for the hospital. Exactly how this person got infected is now being investigated. Nine ADC personnel who were in direct contact with the infected have been quarantined.
In addition, there are two “inconclusive” cases that still need further testing. This concerns residents of Curacao who have recently returned from abroad. According to Gerstenbluth, these may already be in the final stages of the corona infection, which explains why their contamination is difficult to determine.
The total number of infections is now seven. Two of these were cured and one person died. Four people are now in isolation.
