SIMPSON BAY, St. Maarten – The First Annual Customer Service and Professional Development week will be held on June 3-7, on the island of St. Eustatius by Customer Service Mobile Academy, (CSMA), an affiliate company of Training Professionals International Firm, (TPI). The conference has three primary focus areas: Raising the island’s Customer Service standards, providing professionals with courses to enhance their professional career track, and offering business owners and entrepreneurs with courses that focus on effective business practices, marketing, and business management. Some of the course offered for that dynamic week include, Motivating Teams for High Performance, Conflict Resolution, Customer Service vs. Customer Care, Attitude for Service and Managing Emotions under Pressure.
Dr. Natasha J. Gittens, President and CEO of Customer Service Mobile Academy was the developer and founder of this forward thinking concept of taking training opportunities to islands throughout the Caribbean with initiating the first conference in St. Maarten, last year and supporting the SABA government in 2018 with their Hospitality Conference where CSMA offered over twenty four accredited courses to local business and residents. The 2nd Annual Conference will take place in St. Maarten on October 21-25, in continued partnership with the Holland House. CSMA is currently working on developing conferences in Bonaire, St. Kitts and St. Lucia.
Charles Lindo, The Director of the St. Eustatius Tourism indicated training is essential for any and all industry. He advised that companies should regularly invest in their most precious assets, their employees, if they wish to pursue strong business sustainability. The other islands have that understanding of what it means to pursue these values and St. Eustatius business owners should follow in these footsteps. The 1 st Annual St. Eustatius Customer Service & Professional Development Week, held in June should not start and stop there, regular refresher courses should be given during the course of the year leading up to what could be the 2 nd training conference 2020 on Statia. We look forward to the trainings and the continuous enhancement of the people of Statia through trainings and workshops for the coming years.
