HOLLAND – On Wednesday a man gave a 2-year-old child a teddy bear as a gift in the Zeeland town of Zuidzande. The child’s parents later found a camera and microphone in the toy, the Zeeuws-Vlaanderen police said on Facebook.
The young family were at a flea market in Zuidzande when the stranger approached them and said the child was very cute. He gave the child a small teddy bear. Later in the day, the parents felt something hard in the teddy bear and opened it up. They found a small camera with a microphone hidden inside, with the teddy bear’s nose being the lens of the camera.
The family contacted the police, who launched an investigation. The police found that the camera had no batteries, and therefore couldn’t record. But still advised parents whose kids are addressed by a stranger and offered a free toy, to check it carefully.
