CAY HILL, Sint Maarten – St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) recently hosted a SYNERGY Conference, facilitated by their Quality and Safety Department, featuring Keynote Speaker, Dr. Eric Gertner, Associate Medical Director for Population Health and Patient Centered Medical Homes at Lehigh Valley Health Network in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
During the conference, attendees were welcomed by SMMC Chairman of the Board of Directors Kees Klarenbeek and Head of Quality and Safety, Tammie Papada who presented on Prevention. “As Medical Institutions, it is important that we focus not only on palliative and curative care but also preventative care as it is our responsibility to the people and communities that we serve”, said Klarenbeek. Keeping with the theme of Prevention, Dr. Gertner spoke on “Improving Chronic Illness and Preventative Services through the Patient-Centered Medical Home”.
