PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – It is with great excitement and based on the commitment of the program manager and staff I bring you the good news of the re-launching of PJL Story Time. The story time will be aired two times a week on PJL website: stmaartenlibrary.org and on PJL Facebook: stmaartenPjlibrary, on Saturdays and Wednesdays.
The first story will be aired from Saturday May 9, 2020, and every Saturday after that at 11 a.m. This will be for children ages 5 and up and they will have the opportunity to listen to a book-reading by PJL Own Youth Librarian, Ms. Maryland Powell. It’s a big treat and I can assure you that her reading will cover many exciting stories.
The story time will then continue on Wednesday, May 13th, 2020 featuring with Ms. Melackia Spencer who will be the host for story time for baby and toddlers. This story time will be aired every Wednesday from at 10 am. Melackia Spencer is no stranger to this age group as she has been task with storytelling for this age group for many years and it is our hope that all parents, brothers and sisters will tune in and enjoy the stories with their baby-brother of sister.
All parents and interested person are encouraged to support PJL re-launching of story time and go to the library’s web-site at’stmaartenlibrary.org’ and tune in on the story-times. Story time is only about 15 min max, so please don’t be late so you will enjoy the whole story. And, don’t forget: every Wednesday at 10 a.m. and every Saturday at 11 a.m. there will be a new story.
The Philipsburg Jubilee Library also wants to remind its patrons that at all times e-books can be borrowed through the digital library. You can borrow an e-book and read it for your children or you can borrow an audio-book so you can listen together with your children to the story. If you are a member, go to the library’s web-site at ‘stmaartenlibrary.org’ and select your electronic book. If you are not a member, go to the same web-site and follow the instruction.
The Philipsburg Jubilee Library continues to be committed to encourage, promote, stimulate active reading of children under ALL conditions.
