SYNOPSIS:
Warm conditions will prevail across the region today. Low level moisture and very light winds may produce cloudy periods with isolated showers and a chance of afternoon thunderstorms across the local area. Sea conditions will remain slight for the next several days.
STATE OF THE SEA: Slight to moderate WAVES/SWELLS: 3 to 5 feet
SPECIAL FEATURES: A broad area of low pressure, associated with a tropical wave is located about 800 miles east of the Lesser Antilles. Although this system continues to produce disorganized shower activity, some slight development of this system is still possible. This disturbance is expected to move slowly westward across the tropical Atlantic Ocean for the next several days.
A tropical wave located between the west coast of Africa and the Cabo Verde Islands is forecast to move quickly westward during the next several days. Some slow development is possible over the weekend when the system is expected to be a couple hundred miles east of the Windward Islands.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of these systems and update the public accordingly.
