AIRPORT, Simpson Bay – On Thursday morning, April 15th, the Princess Juliana International Airport in close cooperation with among other stakeholders, the Sint Maarten Tourist Bureau, the Ministry of VSA and the Ministry of TEATT, officially launched its Covid 19 Test Center. However, the Test Center had been operational since March 20th.
The purpose is to allow departing passengers to be administered an antigen test prior to departure.
These tests will be carried out by certified staff from the Healthcare Laboratory Services, and according to the Chief Operations Officer at the Princess Juliana International Airport, Michel Hyman, the facility is open seven days a week to all passengers without appointment.
The facility has the capacity to test well over three hundred passengers daily. To date, they have administered well over six hundred tests.
Whilst addressing those persons on hand for the official launching ceremony of the facility Thursday morning, the PJIA COO stated that the overall objective of the testing facility is to add the convenience for travelers.
