PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – Suspended Member of Parliament Theo Heyliger is forced to go through yet another hurdle. This time, a lien placed on his assets and salary.
This was done earlier this week by the OM in connection with the ongoing “LARIMAR” investigation, of which, Mr. Heyliger remains a suspect for his alleged involvement in corruption and fraud.
Theo Heyliger is currently in Boston, where he is recovering from surgery.
Whilst the lien has been placed on his properties and salary, the suspended Member of Parliament still has access to his bank accounts.
“We can confirm that a lien has been placed on his assets and his salary. As you know, the suspect is under investigation for the “LARIMAR” investigation. LAIMAR is an investigation that deals with corruption and fraud and the investigation is still ongoing, and in the case, they have put a lien on his properties and on his salary,” the Spokesman for the Anti Corruption Task Force (TBO) Roderick Gouverneur said.
