PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten — Making a milestone of a century is quite an achievement. Celebrating the joy of such an accomplishment can be unending and tremendous. The Leonald Conner Primary School formerly also known as Lionel Conner Primary School and or the Leonard Conner Primary School has achieved this milestone this year.
This academic school year 2019-2020, the Leonald Conner School, now located in Cay Bay will be celebrating it’s 100 years in existence. According to research done, the school started in the year 1919.
The celebrations kicked off in November 2019, when all past School Managers, formerly known as Principals, were honoured during the School’s a St. Maarten’s Day school program.
These were: The Honourable President of Parliament, Mr. William Marlin, Mrs. Glenda Mathew-White, and Mrs. Vivian Pompier-Maccow. The celebrations will continue until June 2020.
This milestone was achieved through hard work and determination of all educators and management teams over the years. These dedicated stakeholders’ goal was to ensure that their students were adequately prepared and educated to function in the 21 st century, despite the challenges they experienced.
Further, the celebration serves to highlight and reflect on the achievements of the many students, teachers and all others connected with the Leonald Conner Family.
Various activities are planned to showcase this auspicious occasion such as a Meet & Greet, Family Fun Day, Walkathon, Concert with Bell’s Brothers (Former Students of LCS), LCS Talent Show, A Movie /Bingo Night, and culminate with a Gala Dinner.
We look forward to seeing all former students, staff and current members of Leonald Conner family at many of the events as possible to rekindle or reignite the bonds of friendship made before or still aflame.
Much appreciation is expressed to the contribution of:
- The Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth & Sports affairs in particular, Division Public Education over the school years.

- The many Parents, Guardians, Students and, supporters.
This celebration is currently in full swing and join our team on Saturday, January 11th , from 6:00 pm and to 9:00 pm at the Leonald Conner School where our first Meet and Greet Activity will be held. Feel free to provide any assistance possible for the realization of this prestigious milestone.
The proceeds from all activities commemorating this event will go towards the purchasing of two playground equipment for the students.
