HARBOR VIEW, St. Maarten – In front of family, friends and well wishers, the interim Silveria Jacobs led government took the oath of office Tuesday morning.
The government, comprising of five Ministers was sworn in at the Governor’s office in Harbor View. The five Ministers who took the oath of office were the Prime Minister with the responsibility for General Affairs, the Honorable Silveria Jacobs, the Minister of Finance, the Honorable Ardwell Irion, the Minister of Justice, the Honorable Jurendy Doran, the Minister of VROMI, the Honorable Christopher Weever and Minister of TEATT Rene Violenus .
Administering the oath taking was Governor of St. Maarten, His Excellency drs. Eugene B Holiday. Following the ceremony at Harbor View, the newly sworn in Prime Minister, the Honorable Silveria Jacobs accompanied by her fellow Ministers were transported to the Government Administration Building, where the constituting meeting was held.
Speaking at the meeting, the Prime Minister spoke of some areas of priority for the interim government, including the rehabilitation of the Princess Juliana International Airport.
