The weakened Atlantic high-pressure system will influence dry conditions and decreasing winds across the region.
Large period swells generated by major hurricane Larry will produce hazardous sea conditions through mid-week. Consequently, high surf and small craft advisories are in effect for St. Maarten until further notice. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise extreme caution.

At 5:00 am, major hurricane Larry continued its northwest track, further away from St. Maarten. On its current forecast path, Hurricane Larry does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.
