PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - Political Analyst and scholar of Comparative Government & Politics, Julio R. Romney, today announced the incorporation of the SINT MAARTEN INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC POLICY STUDIES (SIPPS).
SIPPS is a community-based foundation, incorporated exclusively for charitable, educational and public policy research and formulation purposes – with the objective of cultivating a more informed population culture/society through public educational lectures, workshops and debates on developing social issues.
In collaboration with the University of Saint Martin we will be hosting our first public educational event, a town hall forum. All contesting political parties will be invited to participate and present their political opinions (party platform) before the general public. In addition, the general public would be able to pose questions directly to the candidates – calling for an interactive evening where the general public and candidates can engage on a wide range of (community) concerns.
The town hall forum will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at the University of Saint Martin, starting at 7:00pm
