PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – A delegation from Sint Maarten consisting of representatives of the Ministry
of Public Housing, Spatial Planning, Environment and Infrastructure (VROMI) and the National Recovery Program Bureau (NRPB) recently attended the annual International Solid Waste Association (ISWA) World Congress in Bilbao, Spain.
The congress was focused on topics related to sustainable waste management strategies, the circular economy and resource efficiency. It featured presentations and workshops by professionals in the waste industry from around the world.
The delegation’s experience at the congress was highly informative. The trip was key in efforts to increase technical, practical and strategic knowledge and experience in relation to waste management. An additional benefit to the team was being familiarized with the latest waste treatment technologies available on the market.”
