WILLEMSTAD – Starting today April 21, some of the measures related to the coronavirus will be eased.
Books and office supplies are allowed to open again. Employers must apply for exemption for themselves and their employees; no walk-in but only delivery in recognizable vehicles. No furniture sales;
Hardware stores can open again but only through delivery at home or via drive-through. Those who need to get something at the hardware store must adhere to the license plate of the day measure. Ordinary shop doors remain closed. These stores cannot sell furniture or electronic devices;
Computer shops are allowed to open: people can only enter and use the service e.g. computer repair through an appointment. Customers must adhere to the license plate of the day measure in this case;
Telephone and internet companies can work again. Repair or maintenance workers can visit costumers, but must maintain SOCIAL DISTANCE;
Garden maintenance companies or individuals are allowed to work and unload waste at Selikor Koraalspecht and Landfill Malpais: They must apply for an exemption for their work. Individuals are only allowed to do this depending on the number on their license plate. Clean gardens and grub are important for hurricane season;
Eyewear stores are open to visit only by appointment, social distance and on license plate of the day is valid;
Swimming: Monday to Sunday from 6am to 9am only, license plate of the day applies. Only at beaches, not in public swimming pools. Beaches must be COMPLETELY empty after 9 am. On Sunday you can only walk or cycle to the beach. Not allowed to be with more than 4 people on the beach. Keep SOCIAL DISTANCE… very important;
All these will take effect starting tomorrow, April 21. The inspection team of the Ministry of Economic Development (MEO) will strictly check that everything is properly observed. Therefore the following points:
· If the easing of the measures does not go well, the regulations will be reversed. Everyone must strictly adhere to them.
· Delivery means: order online or by phone
· Apply for all exemptions at www.kalamidat.cw/covid19
· Follow the hygiene rules: wash hands & cough in elbow
· Always stick to the 2-meter distance
· Take your time before applying for your exemption, so that you know WHAT you are applying for
· Exemption is granted 24 to 48 hours after application
