WILLEMSTAD – Three cases have been confirmed in Curaçao of people who are infected with the coronavirus. The third was previously tested as doubt, but later turned out to be positive. A group of forty people is being monitored. Some of them are already in isolation.
All schools in Curaçao will close their doors from Tuesday to prevent further spread of the coronavirus on the island. That is what Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath said today during his daily press conference.
The closure of the schools initially applies for a period of one week. On Thursday it will be decided whether it is necessary to keep the schools closed even longer. The intention is that all students in group eight who are in their final exam year can go to school.
REPATRIATION
Today two flights with 50 and nine Curaçaoans will return to Curaçao. Tomorrow, 9 flights will arrive on Hato to pick up passengers who were unable to leave this weekend, when incoming flights were banned from Europe.
