PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – Community based organizations are invited to learn more about the annual SXM DOET volunteer event which is slated for Friday March 13 and Saturday March 14, 2020. The Project Management Team will host a brief info-session on Tuesday November 26 at the Lion’s Den in Suckergarden starting at 6pm.
The information session will give organizations insight to the plans for the 2020 SXM DOET and how to participate.
“For our 6th edition we are collaborating with local organizations and businesses to host various pre-events to further assist organizations in their project preparations and volunteer recruitment,” said Melanie Choisy, President of the Be The Change Foundation which hosts the event locally in conjunction with the Oranje Fonds in the Netherlands.
The session, geared towards organizations who want to host projects for which they need the help of volunteers to complete, will focus on planning, execution and promotion of a successful project, along with a step-by-step instructional on how to navigate the sxmdoet.com website. One-on-one assistance and advice with registering their projects online will also be available following the presentation.
Foundations, schools, associations, sports teams, clubs, church and youth groups are all encouraged to participate in SXM DOET 2020 by either hosting a project themselves or by signing up to volunteer. All can be done via their online platform at www.sxmdoet.com
