POND ISLAND, Sint Maarten – In a national address on Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Sint Maarten the Honorable Silveria Jacobs stated that Sint Maarten has registered its first case of confirmed COVID 19.
According to the Prime Minister who is also the Chairlady of Emergency Operations Center, the person recently traveled to the United Kingdom via Miami. She also noted the individual is currently in quarantine and will remain in isolation for the next 14 days.
Prime Minister Jacobs also mentioned that a decision has also been taken to close all schools as per Wednesday, March 18th.
