WILLEMSTAD – At least five passengers from the cruise ship that docked on Curaçao on Tuesday are infected with the coronavirus, according to epidemiologist Izzy Gerstenbluth during a press conference held yesterday at Fort Amsterdam.
On the ship’s itinerary they mention Barbados after Curaçao, but according to current information, this was rejected. “We are now looking at where the cruise ship can dock and quarantine the passengers,” said the captain of the ship.
Among the infected persons, there are one or two Dutch nationals. The vast majority of people on the ship are from the Philippines. At present, nine people on board the ship have been placed in isolation with coronavirus.
