PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The Department of Culture within the Ministry of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport (MECYS) will host the first Creative Industries’ Summer Camp Open House on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the John Larmonie Center in Philipsburg from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
We are calling on all stakeholders such as artists, creatives, cultural organizations/foundations, companies, entrepreneurs, summer camp teachers and volunteers, etc. to register with us and exhibit your summer programs and exchange information with interested parents and students.
Department Head of Culture Ms. Clara Reyes expressed the need for the Department to create a platform that exposes more of St. Maarten’s Orange Economy and Creative Sector to the youth.
We aim to have a one-stop-shop showcasing all creative arts summer programs and activities children will experience this Summer. Although the creative industry is the main target, we welcome all summer camp providers to this event in a shared effort to increase summer program enrollment and engagement.
To register as an artist, organization, on your child’s behalf, as a teacher or volunteer for this year’s Creative Summer Camp Open House kindly contact the Department of Culture, MECYS via 721-542-4915 ext.2758 and/or mecysdoc@gmail.com. Go to the following link to register immediately
