PHILIPSBURG, Sint Maarten – The police dispatched center received a call about a fight/Ill-treatment and destruction of property that was taking place on the welfare road, in the area of the Tropicana casino with two men.
The police officers rushed to the scene and encountered a man who had been ill-treated with a broken bottle. According to the information gathered, two men of Latin decent fought over a lady friend who both of them was dating. During the fight the victim with the initials C.M.P ill-treated L.J C-P with a broken bottle. The victim sustained deep gash on his neck.
He was treated on the scene by the ambulance personnel and later brought over to the St.Maarten Medical Center.
The suspect who was still in the area was immediately arrested a brought over to the police station in Philipsburg and incarcerated pending further investigation.
After being treated in the medical center, the victim was also arrested for damaging the vehicle of the other suspect. L.J C-P is also being held at the police station pending further investigation
