BACK STREET, Philipsburg, Sint Maarten – On Monday April 29th at approximately 2.00 a.m. police patrols, Detectives, Forensic Investigators and Fire Department were dispatched to A&A Fashions located close to Kadaster Office on Back Street where an explosion was reported and that the store was on fire.
The fire department immediately went work on extinguishing in an effort to prevent the blaze from spreading to the other stores and or the apartments located above the establishment.
The area was immediately cordoned off by the police officers on the scene.
According to report, the couples that own the store have been having serious communication problems lately which may have escalated causing the male owner to set the store on fire. This suspect in this case has not yet been located or arrested.
It is still unclear what happened and Detectives are speaking to potential witnesses while Forensic Investigators collect evidence on the scene.
