WILLEMSTAD – In the field of digital case registration systems, Suriname and the Antilles want to cooperate more. The Court of Justice of Suriname and the Joint Court of Justice of Aruba, Curaçao, Sint Maarten and Bonaire, Sint Eustatius and Saba have signed a cooperation agreement. Iwan Rasoelbaks of Suriname and Mauritz de Kort of the Antilles have signed on behalf of their Court of Justice.
According to the Court of Justice of Suriname, the agreement will increase this cooperation with, among other things, the following topics: EU training for judges and lawyers, course on current affairs, Supreme Court jurisprudence and advice on the process of privatization of business operations, Court of Justice of Suriname.
The senior advisor of the common court Andre Steg and De Kort recently visited Suriname for this purpose. The pair also held talks with other judicial authorities on 3 and 4 October. The Court reports on its website that Steg “has provided support in the recent period with the implementation of the civil case registration system in the civil sector of our jurisdiction”.
