GREAT BAY, Sint Maarten – The 2019 6th edition of the Battle of the Fittest invitational basket ball championships bounces off today.
The tournament which has attracted the participation of some 9 teams, is being competed at the L.B Scot Sports Auditorium.
The competing countries are Aruba, Anguilla, Curacao, the Dominican Republic, Dominica, defending champions, B.V.I St. Eustatius, St. Martin and hosts St. Maarten.
In the first game scheduled for today at 6 pm, the Dominican Republic faces off against Curacao. This will be followed by the match up between B.V.I and Aruba at 8 pm, while at 10 pm, Statia will be going up against St. Maarten.
All teams are ready to do battle for the championship trophy and the purse of 5000.00 US dollars
