SIMPSON BAY, St. Maarten – The authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding a body of someone fished out of the ocean in Simpson Bay Saturday afternoon.
Police were notified of the situation at around 2:30, after which, they requested the assistance of the Coast Guard, who then retrieved the body shortly after.
It is not certain as to how the body, believed to be that of a Male end up in the sea.
The body has since been confiscated by the authorities for an autopsy.
It is also reported that the victim is no stranger to police.
An investigation into the cause of death has been launched.
