At 5:00 am the center of Tropical Storm Larry was located about 2585 miles east southeast of St. Maarten. This system is moving toward the west near 20 mph. Maximum sustained winds have increased to near 45 mph with higher gusts. Additional strengthening is expected during the next few days and Larry is predicted to become a hurricane by late Thursday or Friday.
The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system and update the public accordingly.
