PHILISPBURG, Sint Maarten – Burger King Sint Maarten will soon launch its plant-based Whopper in St.Maarten.
The new plant -based Whopper will be made available as of Tuesday December 2nd as it is “100% plant-based” .While the burger itself contains no meat, Burger King acknowledged that the plant-based patties are flame-grilled on the same broiler as its chicken and beef products and keeping its delicious taste as a regular whopper. Several statements were made during blind test and the difference was not been able to be told. The patty is made with soy protein, potato protein, coconut oil, sunflower oil, salt, yeast, and a variety of emulsifying agents.
Burger King made it clear that the only way in which its new Whopper was different from the traditional one was the plant-based patty. Since vegans traditionally avoid eggs, the plant-based Whopper was quickly dismissed as a legitimate vegan fast-food alternative since the burger is topped with mayonnaise.
“What we are offering our customers is a choice. St.Maarteners are such huge meat-eaters, and the insight for this local roll-out is to provide them with an affordable alternative to reduce meat intake, if they so desire, with an equally satisfying product”, said management.
“We’ve seen more developed markets making the shift earlier on, and locally, we see the Plant-Based Whopper as a game-changer, a revolutionary product. We wanted to be at the forefront of that shift here”.
Besides releasing this new WHOPPER, Burger King has decided to roll out a great campaign with Coca- Cola. A campaign that should have started earlier this year , however due to the outbreak of COVID-19 , it did not happen. Scratch tickets will show validity date until May 30,2020 , however the new deadline will be January 31, 2021 to claim your prizes.
For every combo meal purchase at any of the Burger King location , a scratch ticket with various prizes will be given to you throughout the Christmas Season to give back the holiday spirit to our consumers. Prizes such as free fries , free burgers , and several cash prizes of $100 and $500 as main prizes.
Next to that Burger King will be re-opening its Cole Bay location due to high demand and offering a great service to our residents in that area and for our French side consumers.
