CAY HILL, Sint Maarten – All is set for a new cast to hit the stage at the Philipsburg Cultural Center this Friday and Sunday evening for the play “The Wedding Chronicles”. The play premieres on Friday evening at 8pm and will have a repeat performance Sunday evening at 6.00pm.
Written & directed by Jamila Javois, the Wedding Chronicles will depict scenarios surrounding the planning of weddings and all the drama surrounding weddings and marriage. The play will feature a cast of new actors who will for the majority be appearing on stage for the very first time. “I am actually very impressed with the manner in which the cast has owned their respective roles and will depict various characters in the play” Jamila Javois stated. Appearing on stage will be Benjamin Bell, Judith Eduoard, Isabella Graneau, Michel Arrindell, Adelicia Mossell, Kenneth Serrant, Elisha Dolor, Sue-An Agol, Priya Sabherdien, Erwin Rombley, Joel Holaman, Jules James & Rolando Tobias.
“Ticket sales have been very impressive. We are almost sold out for the Friday evening premiere, however there are tickets available still for the Sunday evening performance” Javois-Arrindell stated.
Tickets can still be bought at SOS radio, Van Dorp Madame Estate, Family Bookstore and Nature’s Discount. She indicated that she is pleased with the public’s response to the play and is looking forward to delivering some powerful messages about weddings and marriage during the play.
The Wedding Chronicles is the first stage play by the Judah Jubilee Company, which has been founded with the aim to develop and expose the island’s talent through drama, vocal training and personal development.
