CAY HILL, Sint Maarten – The St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) Emergency Room (ER) recently received a donation from students of the American University of the Caribbean (AUC). Heather Langner, representing her graduating class, contacted the hospital with hopes of making a monetary contribution towards the purchase of equipment for the ER, as a token of appreciation.
Heather states: “The September 2017 Class at the American University of the Caribbean School of Medicine is honored to present SMMC Emergency Department with this donation. SMMC has been an amazing part of our education, providing doctors for our clinical medicine courses, nurses for our CPR course, and a hospital setting for us to learn to be doctors. Thank you for being such a crucial part of our medical education.”
The donation was used towards the purchase of a new mobile patient monitor for the ER department.
Donations are always appreciated by SMMC and if you (or your company/organization) would like to contribute, donations can be made via the SMMC website. Visit www.smmc.sx/Family-Visitors/Donate for more information about SMMC’s donations program.
