THE HAGUE – Curacao and Aruba join Sint Maarten with regard to the proposal of the Netherlands concerning the Kingdom Law Disputes Act.
This law does not meet the conditions such as a binding opinion by an independent body that was established in 2016.
The delegations agree that the current proposal for a Kingdom Law Act does not enjoy broad support.
During the Kingdom Inter-parliamentary Consultation (IPKO) this week, the Aruban delegation introduced an amendment to rewrite the proposal. The delegation from Curaçao will not submit anything, but does support the action of Aruba to change the current proposal of the National Act.
