Philipsburg, St. Maarten–Two St. Martin PONY League and Mets players, Felix Brown and Franklin de la Rosa have been selected to form part of the French national baseball selection that will be traveling to South Africa from November 3 to 8, 2018. Felix will be traveling as short stop while Franklin will be traveling as a pitcher.
While Felix has traveled extensively with the French selection, this will be Franklin’s first trip as part of the national selection. Because of his performance on the field and his conduct on and off the field, Franklin was one of the players of a French Caribbean island that was recommended by the St. Martin PONY League for the French national selection, and has been accepted as a pitcher by the French Baseball Federation.
Both players during their time on St. Maarten played in the AA Baseball and are now living in France. Felix plays for the Senart team, while Franklin is playing for the Boucaniers. Both Franklin and Felix are from St. James, Marigot.
The St. Martin Pony League is proud of this achievement and wishes both players best of luck during their games in South Africa.
