Philipsburg, Sint Maarten – On September 25th, 2020, Prime Minister Silveria E. Jacobs raised the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) flag. On this commemorative day, the SDG flag is being raised throughout the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The Government of St. Maarten remains committed to the Sustainable Development Goals agenda.
This agenda serves as a tool for development for St. Maarten and the rest of the world. Furthermore, the SDG day is an opportunity to show-case and appreciate organizations and persons that contribute to the sustainable development of St. Maarten. As such, the St. Maarten Development Fund (SMDF), K1 Britannia, UNESCO and former BAK program manager for SDG’s, Ms. Loekie Morales were presented with certificates of appreciation for their outstanding contribution to the SDG’s for St. Maarten.
Government will continue to acknowledge and support efforts by civil society as their contribution to St. Maarten are boundless.
