Soualuiga Road, Pond Island, July 20, 2020]. On July 13, 2020, Postal Services St. Maarten N.V. (PSS) signed a partnership agreement with SEL Maduro & Sons N.V., establishing PSS as a sub-agent. Travelers are now able to book their next trip, be it for corporate, leisure, or group travel, to their destination of choice at the post office branch, located at Soualuiga Boulevard #6, Pond Island, Philipsburg, (Former Census Office).
General Manager of SEL Maduro & Sons N.V. Mr. Sjaoel Richardson stated that this endeavor of sub-agent is the first of its kind for SEL Maduro & Sons N.V., locally. The company has been in the business of specialized travel and tours since 1963, with similar partnerships in the region. Richardson expressed his confidence in the partnership, noting that PSS has the right business attitude to serve in said capacity especially at this time.
Interim Managing Director Marinka Gumbs added that becoming a sub-agent or getting involved in this aspect of the travel industry is commensurate to PSS’s e-Commerce business model. Gumbs noted that she was ecstatic that the two were finally able to concretize the agreement despite the setbacks because of COVID-19 and looked forward to providing this service to business and leisure travelers in the near future.
In the meantime, PSS management and core staff will be participating in compulsory training related to customer service as it relates to the ‘new normal’ in travelling. Ongoing awareness highlighting safe practices during travel, and requirements amid COVID-19 for the safety of our customers, will be our primary focus going forward, Gumbs stated. An announcement with regard to the soft-opening for this new service will be published in a subsequent release.
