SIMPSON BAY, Sint Maarten–According to reports reaching our news desk, the Chief Security Officer at the Princess Juliana International Airport, J.S, has been detained.
He was detained Wednesday morning by officers of the Anti Corruption Task Force (TBO). It is still not clear as to why J..S has been taken into custody, however, we understood that the home of the airport’s Head of Security has also been searched. For a confirmation of the arrest, we spoke to the communication’s officer at TBO, Roderick Gouverneur.

Chief of security St. Maarten airport arrested
On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, the Anti-corruption Taskforce (TBO) detained suspect S. on St. Maarten. S, 48 years old, is the chief of security of Princess Juliana International Airport and is suspected of accepting bribes, money laundering and complicity in violation of the duty to register foreign exchange. In connection with this, the home and workplace of S. have also been searched. The suspect has been taken into custody today.
