WILLEMSTAD – Minister Zita Jesus-Leito says it is not true that the PAR has asked her to step down as minister. Nor would the PAR have ever thought of avoiding the return of Marilyn Alcala-Wallé as minister.
This is according to sources close to the coalition party. Alcala-Wallé is currently still under investigation by the Public Prosecution Service for suspected violation of the screening law.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Eugene Rhuggenaath said during a radio interview that he does not support the return of Marilyn Alcala-Wallé as minister.
Alcala-Wallé now holds a key position in the party. She has the right to take her seat in parliament, which gives the government a small majority. If Alcala-Wallé decides to take her seat and become an independent Member of Parliament, this would mean the end of the Rhuggenaath government.
