WILLEMSTAD, Curacao - On Sunday morning about 10:40 o'clock received the Coast Guard (KWCARIB) a notification that a sailing vessel type 'catsail "had capsized near Donkey Beach west of Bonaire airport.

A patrol from the Coast Guard sailed with their Boston Whaler to assist. Once on the spot they found the capsized catsail but a vessel, the "Pelican Reef" had already begun preparations to drag the catsail.

Under the supervision of the Coast Guard the catsail was dragged to the vicinity of the Plaza Resort. Both the Captain and the passengers were in good health.

A second call came in at around 14:30 pm about a man who went missing north of Klein Bonaire. It was a tourist of 77 years, with the Dutch nationality. The man was also diabetic.

The Coast Guard was immediately deployed in order to render assistance. Along with two nurses from the Ambulance Service and two police officers the Coast Guard went towards Klein Bonaire.

Around 15:00 pm they received a report that the man was found west of Klein Bonaire. He was put on board and taken to the marina Harbour Village. There he was examined by the nurses of the Ambulance Service.

Except for some scratches on his legs, he was in good health.
