St. Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation conducts rescue at sea after August Monday activities

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - The St. Maarten Sea Rescue Foundation was called to the rescue of a boat some 50 miles of St. Maarten on Monday, August 1st.

Speaking to our news department, a member of the SSRF, France Nieuwenhoven stated that the small vessel which had 4 persons onboard was stranded in the Anguilla Channel due to a lack of fuel.

They however, managed to tour the boat to Grand Case. He also told us that the occupants of the boat were intoxicated.

It is for this reason he noted that it would be wise to always make use of a designated driver, as sometimes being drunk at sea can be very dangerous.
