Carnival Dream passengers to be airlifted from St. Maarten Friday

PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten - A Carnival Cruise that departed from Port Canaveral Saturday, March 9 is still stuck in port of St. Maarten.

The Dream was scheduled to leave St. Maarten at 5 p.m. Wednesday to return to Port Canaveral however those plans were aborted when the reported difficulties were encountered.

Reports now say that the Harbour Group of Companies along with the Government of St. Maarten has ensured that all is being done to provide for the passengers of the ship as well as to ensure its security.

We have also learnt that the passengers will be airlifted out of the island by charter flights on Friday.

According to Carnival Cruise Lines, guests were allowed to visit the island for another day on Thursday as well as compensation packages for the passengers will be offered.

More can now be heard via PodCast.
