TWO-TIME Olympic triple jump gold medallist Christian Taylor is in Barbados and he has a few words of advice for athletes.

“First and foremost keep God first. My faith is very strong and it’s something I also take a lot of pride in because I know none of this would really be possible, my transition with my leg, being a professional athlete and longevity, I am very grateful for all my blessings.

“Secondly it would be to have fun; no matter what you do whether its track and field, football, cricket, just have fun. Every day I go to training because I love what I do and I don’t take it for granted. A

nd last but not least, sacrifice. Any dream you have, any goal you have you need to sacrifice,” he said.

Taylor was speaking to students of Christ Church Foundation School (CCFS) and the University of the West Indies Blackbirds club during a meet and mingle session at Bougainvillea Beach Resort in Maxwell, Christ Church yesterday.
