The French Council of State Wednesday handled the controversial issue of the rejection of the campaign accounts
for the islands first President, Louis Constant Fleming.
The subject was a scheduled point on the agenda for Wednesdays meeting of the Council Of State. The conclusions of the recommendations, recommending the ineligibility of the President for a term of one year, was read by Madame the Commissar of the Government.
The Council Of State also took the position that they will place the affair under deliberation for an undetermined period. A comment from President Fleming states that, he will of course keep the population informed of any new element that is brought to his knowledge in this affair.
There are strong expectations that the members of the Council of State could take between 2 to 4 weeks before rendering any judgement.
