DSC_0252PHILIPSBURG - Commissioner Theo Heyliger and Lt. Governor of St. Maarten Franklin Richards, joined the celebration on Friday as GEBE inaugurated their two new engines.

The ceremony was held on Friday afternoon at the companies Cay bay Power Plant facilities.

To celebrate the companies achievement, they donated Naf 50.000 to their adopted school which is the Orange School. Assistant principal Mr. Franklin Haddocks was on hand for the occasion and received the check on behalf of the school.

This is so ridiculous it ain't funny no more. Big celebration and we cannot have
electricity. Why inaugurate and we do not have electricity on a regular basis.
This is the problem with SXM. We like to push problems to the back burner and
shine rather than to be humble and solve the issues. I see this as a total
insult to we the people of this Island. But what the heck, our powers to be
don't give a hoot about us anyway.
