PHILIPSBURG - Candidate #2 on the National Alliance list, Commissioner Frans Richardson's team has nailed his flags to coconut trees on backstreet.

With all the movements toward going green, one would not imagine that such an act would be coming from the NA camp.

On behalf of the St.Maarten population and conscious green people - we are kindly asking the commissioner to have his team correct their wrong as soon as possible.

Recommendation: his team should use tie-straps similar to the ones used by the number 5 candidate on the DP slate by the round about at the Government's Building.

His posters are tie-strapped to palm trees and is commendable.

Well, at least SXM Pride is and has made a couple announcements like they do
every election cycle about respecting the environment and cleaning up after the
elections.

As usual, they are being ignored it seems. It's not the
environmental groups that can bring about change, its the politicians. I bet you
can't name ONE that has stood up and spoken clearly and intelligently about the
issue. They are all clueless about it!
