PHILIPSBURG - Two cars slammed head-on on Sunday evening at approximately 11:30 sending two passengers to the hospital on the Link one Phase two road.
The driver of the Nissan car, ran away from the scene of the accident leaving his injured female passenger laying in the car bleeding from the head, which apparently struck the windshield.
Persons who arrived on the scene at the time of the accident stated that the female passenger seemed to have been rendered unconscious after her head had seemingly hit the windshield on impact.
There were two visible points of impact to the windshield of the car which would indicate that the driver who ran away, may have also been injured as a result of the impact with the windshield.
The other driver aka. "Agua" was driving north on the link one phase two road in his Toyota Yaris, when the accident occurred. His daughter was his passenger at the time and she suffered slight injuries.
The female passenger in the Nissan, was initially pinned but was released by emergency personnel later. She was then taken to the hospital by the ambulance while the other passenger from the Yaris, was taken to the hospital in a rental care by ambulance personnel.
It is not clear at this time who may be at fault in this accident. The police have launched an investigation.
