PHILIPSBURG - The Governor of the Netherlands Antilles, mr. F.M.d.l.S. Goedgedrag, received the final report of the formateur, Mr. P.J. Atacho. Mr. Atacho has accepted the commission to form a cabinet that:
· has a majority support in Parliament and a basis on all the islands of the Netherlands Antilles, and · consists of persons who are prepared and able to execute a transition program in a decisive and well-balanced manner on the basis of the Agreement of Philipsburg, concluded on February 19, 2010
The formateur has proposed the following persons for appointment as minister, respectively state secretary to the Governor:
· Mrs. E.S. de Jongh-Elhage, Prime Minister, and also Minister of General Affairs and Foreign Relations
· Mr. mr. R.E. Duncan, Minister of Constitutional Affairs and the Interior, and Vice Prime Minister
· Mr. E.E.J. Tjin Asjoe, Minister of Economic Affairs and Employment, and also Second Vice Prime Minister · Mrs. drs. E.Th.M. de Lannooy, Minister of Finance, and also Vice Prime Minister · Mrs.M.M. Jacoba, Minister of Justice · Mrs. O.V.E. Leeflang, Minister of Education and Culture and of Health and Social Development · Mr. P.G. Illidge, Minister of Traffic, Transportation and Telecommunication · Mr. F.H. Thomas, State Secretary of the Interior
. Mr. E.C. Simmons, State Secretary of Justice, entrusted with Police Affairs and the Penal Institution on the Windward Islands · Mrs. S.A. The security screening instituted by the Netherlands Antilles Security Service into the antecedents of the proposed ministers and state secretaries has not produced any data that could impede their appointment.
The Governor has scheduled the swearing in of the proposed ministers and state secretaries for Friday, March 26, 2010 at 11.15 o'clock.
With regard to Mr. Atacho, the Governor has expressed his appreciation for the manner in which he executed his commission.
