Island Council meeting scheduled for Wednesday on 2010 Budget; Central Committee set for Thursday

PHILIPSBURG - A meeting of the Island Council will take place on Wednesday, March 17 at 10.00am in the Claude Wathey Legislative Hall.

The agenda points for the meeting are Budget 2010 and the consequences for not having a budget in place, followed by the agenda point, the labour situation on the island.

The first Island Council meeting related to those agenda points was held on March 11, 2010, however due to the lack of a quorum, the meeting was canceled 30 minutes after it had begun.

The aforementioned agenda points were requested by the Democratic Party opposition faction in the Island Council, namely Island Council members Sarah Wescot-Williams, Maria Buncamper, Leroy De Weever, and Roy Marlin.

The requested Central Committee meeting by the Democratic Party faction in the Island Council in their letter of March 11, 2010, will be held on Thursday, March 18 2010 at 2.30pm in the Claude Wathey Legislative Hall.

The agenda for the Central Committee meeting is related to answers from the Executive Council to questions posed by the members of the Island Council in the Central Committee of March 10, 2010.

Wait and see what the tricks are of the magicans in NA. SXM is waiting on the
new budget for 2010. Not the NA out of the hand travelling since they took
office. NA commissioners do not abide with the fact that there is no budget for
2010, every other thing can wait except their travels. It looks like a cookie
jar to me when it comes to their travelling.

Indeed. And now Frans have the gals to report that due to the lack of Funds the
tourism out of Germany and the rest of Europe is down. Then tell the Germans to
advance us the financing and once business pick up we will reimburse them. But
guess Mr. Commissioner "FREE HAND WITH THE PEOPLE MONEY" Frans done make
big promises. Wait and see.

GET YOUR DAMN BUDGET AND G.E.B.E. IN ORDER FIRST,
THEN WORRY ABOUT GERMANS AND EUROPEANS. Remember .... tourists want comfort ....
meaning a steady economy, pure clean water, electricity to run their airco's and
fans and light to see where they are going.

The game is slowly coming to an
end. All these guys are doing is traveling, traveling and more traveling. But up
to now we cannot see anything positive or constructive coming out of all these
travels.

In the meantime all local affairs are just piling up and now even
LOU, LOU speaking out that meetings taking to long to set up. Imagine .....
another blunder in the making ref. the budget. Incredible !!!!!!!!!!!
